Please review these frequently asked questions before sending an e-mail to Customer Support.
Q: My download failed. How can I start the download again?
A: To download again, Click here.
Q: I am still using Windows 95. Are there any issues that I should be aware of ?
A: SimplyZip is not designed for Windows 95 (which Microsoft no longer supports). SimplyZip requires newer versions of some system files that came with Windows 95. These system files may have been updated if you installed newer versions of some software such as Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0, etc. If you install SimplyZip and it does not work properly, please contact Customer Support. Note that this does not affect later versions of Windows such as Windows 98, Windows ME, WindowsXP, etc.
Q: I tried compressing some GIF and JPG files, but their compressed size is not much smaller than its original size. Why is that ?
A: File formats like GIF and JPG are already compressed in their original form. As these files our only compressed, SimplyZip often adds only a small additional compression ratio.
Q: I would like to use SimplyZip from the command line in my batch files. Does SimplyZip come with a command line version ?
A: SimplyZip does not currently support DOS or supply a command line version.
Q: What are spanned zip files?
A: Spanned files refers to the method of dividing compressed files into multiple, smaller files.
Q: Can I use SimplyZip to extract files from other archiving utilities (i.e. Winzip, PkZip etc.) and vice versa?
A: Yes. All archiving utilities that support the ZIP file format can work with files created with SimplyZip. SimplyZip also handles valid ZIP file formats created by other compression programs.
Q: How do I repair my file associations so SimplyZip will open Zip files by default?
A: You can reset your file associations by starting SimplyZip, then click on the word Help (not the one with the question mark, but the one above that). Then click on Repair File Associations. If you are running on Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT, you will need to reboot for the change to take effect.
